Our History
For more than a decade, the Automotive Financial Group has been a national leader in the sale and servicing of financial products for automobile dealerships, including life, disability, gap and maintenance contracts. We have grown and prospered because we are fanatical when it comes to serving our dealer customers.

One chain of dealerships liked our work so well they asked us to help them recruit and train employees so they could focus their own efforts serving their customers. We said yes, and the AFG Training Academy was born.

The Automotive Financial Group was formed in 1994 to offer superior alternatives to the standard F&I products and standard business relationships.  Having spent years in the automotive industry, AFG's founders knew that many improvements needed to occur in the F&I process. The result is the highly progressive group of AFG companies offering superior services and products to our Agents.

Whether a person’s job in the dealership is on the Sales floor, Service, Parts, Finance or your Business Office, the AFG Training Academy instills in each student that every employee is in the business of selling your dealership – in person, on the phone or online.

We begin with the fundamentals, teaching the sales process step-by-step, from the Meet & Greet through Closing, Handoff to Finance and Vehicle Delivery. We teach your people how to prospect continuously, the importance of teamwork, multiple paths to closing, and how to accurately read buying signals in body language and verbal responses.

Most importantly, each student leaves the AFG Training Academy with a personalized Action Plan that is his or her roadmap to success, including specific behaviors they need to improve and measurable performance objectives.

Carl GraneDirector of Training, Lead Facilitator. Carl brings more than 25 years of training, wholesale and retail automotive experience to AFG. His first-hand experience as Dealer, General Manager, Sales Manager, Zone Manager and auto industry Consultant have prepared him well to lead AFG’s diversified and growing training programs.
